AlterMedic USA (The French Method of Naturopathy™)

Effective date: January 21, 2026
Applies to: https://www.altermedic-center.us/ and U.S. sub-pages for the Naturopathic Counselor e-learning programs (the “Site” and “Services”).

We deliver 100% online e-learning for Naturopathic Counselors. We are an education provider (not a medical clinic). We do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or prescriptions. We are generally not a HIPAA covered entity; nevertheless, we protect learner information under this Policy.

1) Who we are (Controller)

AlterMedic Center (and its U.S. operating entities) determine the purposes and means of processing your personal information. Contact: contact@altermedic-center.us (preferred), or postal address available on our legal/imprint page. For certain activities (payments, student support, analytics), we use processors acting on our instructions.

2) Scope

This Policy covers personal information collected online via our Site, learning platform, forms, email/SMS communications, webinars, and social ads that link here. It does not cover third-party sites we don’t control. If you reach us through marketplaces or partners, their terms apply in addition to ours.

3) Key definitions

  • “Personal information / personal data”: information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to an individual.

  • “Sensitive information”: as defined by state law, e.g., precise geolocation; government IDs; financial account log-in; biometric data; health-related inferences; children’s data.

  • “Sell” / “Share”: state-law terms (e.g., CA) covering disclosure for value or for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • “Targeted advertising”: ads based on personal data obtained from your activity across businesses, apps, or sites over time.

  • “Controller / Processor”: we act as controller for most activities; vendors act as processors under contract.

4) What we collect (by category)

Identifiers (name, email, phone, postal address, device IDs, IP).
Student/Account data (enrollment details, cohort, progress, badges, support tickets).
Commercial data (products viewed, cart, purchase history; payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers—card numbers are not stored by us).
Internet/technical data (cookies, log files, device/browser info, session metadata).
Professional/education (role, certifications, license status if provided).
Wellness preferences (self-reported goals, lifestyle habits submitted in learning activities—optional).
Communications (emails, chat, webinar Q&A, reviews).
Sensitive data (limited): we avoid collecting sensitive data unless necessary (e.g., precise location for fraud prevention; identity verification for financing). We do not intentionally collect protected health information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.

5) Sources

  • You (forms, checkout, account, surveys, support).

  • Your devices (cookies, SDKs, web beacons).

  • Service providers (payment, learning platform, CRM, analytics, ad platforms).

  • Public or partner sources (leads from directories or campaigns) when permitted by law.

6) Why we use personal information (purposes)

  • Provide the Services (account creation, cohort management, tutoring, lesson delivery, certifications).

  • Customer support (answer requests, troubleshoot, dispute resolution).

  • Payments & financing (orders, refunds, fraud prevention).

  • Improve and secure the Site and learning experience (analytics, A/B tests, debugging, security monitoring).

  • Communications & marketing (transactional emails/SMS; opt-in newsletters; event/webinar invites; ads).

  • Compliance (record-keeping, tax, contract enforcement, legal requests).

  • With consent (e.g., testimonials; optional research or surveys).

Where laws require a legal basis (e.g., GDPR for EU visitors), we rely on contract, legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement, security), legal obligation, or consent as applicable.

7) Cookies, analytics, ads & measurement

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure performance, and (where allowed) serve or measure targeted advertising. You can manage cookies via our Consent Manager and browser settings. Some features may not function without certain cookies.

Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honor GPC signals where required (e.g., CA) to treat them as an opt-out of sale/sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8) Disclosures of personal information

We disclose data to:

  • Processors (hosting, LMS, payments, support, communications, analytics, anti-fraud).

  • Advertising/measurement partners (to measure or deliver advertising; you can opt-out; see “Your rights”).

  • Affiliates (for centralized admin consistent with this Policy).

  • Legal and safety (to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, investigate fraud or abuse).

  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale with safeguards).

We do not sell sensitive personal information and do not use or disclose sensitive information for purposes other than those permitted by applicable law (e.g., security, integrity, short-term transient use, service delivery) without obtaining consent where required.

9) Your privacy rights (U.S. state laws)

Depending on your state, you may have rights to: know/access, correct, delete, data portability, and to opt-out of: sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. You may also have the right to limit the use of sensitive information.

How to exercise

Submit a request to contact@altermedic-center.us (subject: “Privacy Request”) or via our web form. We will verify your identity and respond within the timelines required by law. 10) Children’s privacy

Our Services are directed to adults and students 13+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided data, contact us and we will delete it as required by law. For teen learners, we implement age-appropriate notices and parental involvement when required.

11) Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data (access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege, logging, vulnerability management). No system is perfectly secure; please use strong passwords and keep them confidential.

12) Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: typically for the duration of the account/cohort plus a reasonable period (e.g., tax, audit, dispute resolution). We apply criteria (account status, legal obligations, business needs) and then delete or de-identify.

13) International transfers

If data is transferred outside your state or country (e.g., to the EU or U.S. data centers), we use appropriate safeguards and vendor contracts. EU/UK visitors: standard contractual clauses and additional measures may apply.

14) Do Not Track (DNT)

Many browsers offer DNT signals; there is no industry standard for responding to them. Where required by law, we treat Global Privacy Control signals as a valid opt-out.

15) Communications choices

  • Marketing: unsubscribe via email footer or by contacting us.

  • SMS: opt-out by replying STOP; standard carrier rates apply.

  • Cookies/ads: use our Consent Manager and platform controls (e.g., Google/Meta ad settings).
